Woodland Nocturne 2021

Since 2019 my creative painting practice has started to naturally encompass photography, installation and film as I explore the landscape so familiar to me through new media. I am essentially painting the landscape with light and seek to capture those fleeting atmospheric moments which synchronise light, form and place to create evocative images which encourage us to escape from our current place in time and space.

This series of 14 photographs evoke my own personal psychogeography as well as the heightened atmospheric intensity of experiencing the landscape at night. I am combining the magic of night with the performance elements of intense lighting to create images which transport our imaginations to recognisable but unworldly spaces.

Each photograph is printed onto Hahnemuhle archival photo rag paper 300gsm at A2 size (420 x 594mm) and is a signed, limited edition of 20. You can purchase by scrolling to the bottom of this page, prints are dispatched 2 weeks from ordering and are available unframed £180.

I spend my time tethered to the ground, the pine trees pull my spirits upwards, skywards, it overwhelms me.
